At the Yuzhny Kemachi field (wells No. 144, 60, 71), works were carried out to extract damaged tubing (including GIS tools) and reconstruct the wells by side-track drilling. The operations included window cutting through two casing columns (Ø 8 5/8” and 5”) and drilling a second borehole to a depth of 2305 m vertically, with a sidetrack offset ranging from 270 m to 600 m, using high-precision navigation equipment.
As a result, an average daily natural gas production of 30 thousand m³ was achieved from each well.
Currently, similar work is ongoing at well No. 79 of the Yuzhny Kemachi field.
